Description

The open center of this cathedral is lined with deep violet crystals, their faceted faces catching light across the cavity. Around the opening, the color lightens to lavender and white banded layers before meeting a gray, textured outer surface. The top is softly arched, and the contrast between the dark interior and the pale lining is the main visual feature. A cut gray face is visible along the bottom edge. Natural color, nothing dyed. From Ametista do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
